One of the program's two primary operating locations is Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, FL. Key elements of the PLSSS program scope include satellite launch processing, satellite transport operations, satellite propellant loading operations, clean room operations, satellite processing and support facilities O&M, and safety and environmental services.The Mechanic/HVAC Specialist is responsible for the installation, servicing, modifications, rebuilds, and repairs of air conditioning and refrigeration systems and equipment in an industrial or commercial establishment in accordance with applicable building codes and safety regulations.Summary of Key Duties for this Position:Diagnose and repair commercial refrigeration and air conditioning equipmentPerform periodic maintenancePerform annual equipment inspectionsInterface with engineering and procurement departmentsComplete work order logs and update schedulerPerform troubleshooting to locate and determine cause of equipment malfunctionsPerform maintenance on such systems as: centrifugal compressors, evaporative condensers, electrical controls, pumps, fans, boilers, and heating equipmentCharge air conditioning systems with refrigerant, checks and tests for leaks, sets, and adjusts controls and regulators.Fabricate, assemble, and install ductworkService, modify, and maintain centralized HVAC computer systems and make program correctionsApplicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. (infrared, laser alignment)High attention to detail and results-focused team player who is adaptable to change with demonstrated initiative and accountability.Pay Information:* This position is covered under the Service Contract Act (SCA) with an hourly wage of no less than $23.98 per hour. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
