Associate Career Consultant Apprentice

This position is located at our Central Career Center at 3400 Belvedere Road, West Palm Beach, FL 33406. POSITION SUMMARY Associate Career Consultants support CareerSource Palm Beach County (CSPBC) organizational goals of connecting business with talent by supporting Senior Career Consultants in researching systems i.e., EmployFlorida.com, resources, client follow-up or status determination and assists in the preparation of job seeker clients, individually or through supportive programs leading to documented employment. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Follows up with clients to obtain information about employment history, educational background, and career goals, and to identify barriers to employment. Research job search and application strategies, resume writing, and interview skills needs. Source qualified Employ Florida clients for Career Consultant services leading to recruiter, option 2 jobs orders, or for application to option 1 job orders referrals. Assist in recruitment and enrollment activities. Conduct follow-up interviews with clients to determine if their needs have been met and employment status. Documents case notes and activities reflective of the follow-up/services provided, results of referrals and notify appropriate Team Member if there is a potential change to the clients “Recruiter Eligible” or “Not Recruiter Eligible.” Records placement verification information. Determines eligibility for referral to applicable programs, departments and/or services. Performs other related duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS Associates degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree preferred. 6 months related experience or a combination of case management and/or providing career guidance experience with special needs. Veteran and/or barriers to employment populations preferred. Ability to develop and conduct public presentations preferred. Spanish and/or Creole verbal fluency may be required by specific departments and/or programs. TRANSPORTATION Reliable transportation and the ability to travel in personal or commercial vehicles as required to accomplish assigned duties.
