Scope of Responsibility
Registered Nurses are to provide assessment and planning for individualized patient care. Communicates with physicians, Unit Directors and co-workers as appropriate in regard to changes in patients condition or response to treatment. Performs general nursing duties in all acute care and out-patient settings with minimal supervision. Participates in performance improvement activities and core measure compliance.
Responsible to the Executive Director of Perioperative Services
Education
- Associate Degree Nurse or Bachelor of Science Nursing
Training and Experience
- Current licensure with the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
- Obtains and maintains American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider
- Obtains and maintains ACLS within 6 months of employment
- Obtains and maintains PALS within 6 months of employment
- 1 year previous experience preferred

Employees who work in Perioperative Services are expected to perform the duties specific to their positions and any areas that fall under Perioperative Services (i.e.; Operating Room, Recovery Room, Central Supply and Outpatient Center). Duties performed in the named areas have been determined to be interchangeable and have been assessed.

Education
Required
Associates or better in Nursing.
Preferred
Bachelors or better in Nursing or related field.
