Job Summary And Responsibilities As our Medical Assistant, you will ensure smooth daily operations for your patients and the medical team. Every day you will proactively prepare patient charts, assist with patients exams or procedure and relay physician instructions, administer physician-directed medication and perform accurate vital sign measurements, manage medical records (charts and EMR), communicate patient concerns to providers, and collaborate with physicians, insurance, and pharmacies for medication authorizations and refills. To be successful in this role, you must have an enthusiasm to help others and the ability to work efficiently and provide empathy for our patients. Consistently demonstrates customer service expectations as outlined in the Dignity Health Medical Foundation audit tools. Consistently and proactively greets patients when within 3 feet of them. Takes legible, clear, complete, and accurate messages per specific expectations outlined by applicable procedures and department supervisor. Accurately documents, calculates, and safely administers all medications after obtaining a physician's written order. Proactively involves others as appropriate in planning and prioritizing work. Quickly seeks assistance from leadership when unsure of what to do, how to handle a situation, or how to accomplish something. Job Requirements Required High School Graduate General Studies or GED General Studies Satisfactory completion of a formal Medical Assistant program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions or military training that is equivalent to an accredited Medical Assistant program (determination by Dignity Health Medical Foundation HR department in conjunction with the State Division of Allied Health Professions.)
