Lead Software Engineer - Data & AI

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We expect formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, along with 5+ years of applied experience.
• We look for hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• We require experience building data pipelines with AWS and Databricks.
• We need advanced expertise in Java, Spring, SQL, Python, and Spark.
• We value proficiency in automation and continuous delivery practices.
• We expect strong command of the full Software Development Life Cycle.
• We look for advanced knowledge of agile methods, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• We require demonstrated proficiency with software applications and technical processes in a technical discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile.
• We want proven experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to set expectations for validating AI output for correctness, performance, and security.
• We seek strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security standards, plus experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.

• We execute creative software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting, while thinking beyond routine approaches to solve complex problems.
• We develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
• We identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve the operational stability of software applications and systems.
• We lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and fit within our systems and information architecture.
• We lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of emerging technologies.
• We drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
• We apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value delivered through automation.
