Job Description

Responsible for using imaging equipment and ultrasound to form images of many parts of the body. They are trained to acquire and analyze these sonographic images. These images are used to help doctors diagnose and treat many medical conditions. Principal accountabilities include setting up and adjusting all equipment and manually maneuvering transducers to perform exams, implementing safety standards and performing appropriate quality control procedures, performing routine and complex studies and assisting in a variety of imaging procedures, recognizing significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations, ensuring equipment is properly functioning, ensuring prompt submission of high-quality images and documents, assisting in maintaining a clean and orderly department, maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies, and performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum education: high school diploma or equivalent required. Education: graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program. License/certification: ARDMS required. Relevant experience: the ideal candidate should have 2+ years' experience preferred.
