Maintenance Technician

Basic Job Functions for Maintenance Technician: Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

• Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures.
• Maintain and repair all equipment including but not limited to conveyor and hydraulic systems, bearings, gear boxes, motors, shredder, eddy current, baler, etc.
• Change liners, grates, hammers, etc.
• Work in outdoor and indoor environments.
• Minor cleanup and other duties as assigned
• Assist other maintenance and production personnel during scheduled repair projectsMinimum Qualifications for Maintenance:
• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
• Flexible working overtime in an industrial environment which includes being outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work standing or walking for up to 10 hours per day.Preferred Qualifications:
• 1-year previous maintenance/welding experience preferred.
