Care Team Assistant - Surgery - Night Shift - Hillcrest

This is a Full-Time position (80 hours per pay period) with an 8-hour NIGHT shift l ocated at our Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest. There are also weekends on call and some holiday shifts with this role. As a Care Team Assistant, you will work under the direction of an RN and Surgical Technologist to assist with the care of perioperative patients and OR room preparation activities such as;

• Assisting with OR bed set ups.
• Assisting with equipment and supplies.
• Housekeeping duties to turn over rooms between cases.
• Assisting in positioning patients for procedures.
• Assisting in transporting patients.
• Assisting with transporting labs/specimens.
• Providing excellent service to patients as a key member of the clinical care team.

• Assisting patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collect data, and ensure the patient has a safe, organized environment.
• Assisting with patient care within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinician.
• Supporting the unit with a variety of patient logistic, clerical, equipment/supply, and charge reconciliation duties.

Qualifications

Required:

• Must be able to speak, read and follow instruction in English.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care provider

Preferred: :

• Multiple patient care skills preferred.
• Prefer one year experience in health care related field, sterile processing, patient transport or equivalent responsibilities.
• Healthcare room cleaning experience preferred
