Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: Active RN License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced, NRPS Must-Have: - Charge Experience Preferred or Willing to Train Description: L&D RN must have an active RN license for automatic offer. The assignment length is 13 or 26 weeks. Shifts are 3x12 or 4x12 nights. First-time travelers are accepted. All time off requests will be approved on an individual basis upon offer. Guaranteed hours are 60 hours per 2 weeks. Travelers can be called off for 1, 12-hour shift per 2 weeks. The unit is a high-risk labor and delivery unit. There are 10 OB triage rooms and 10 labor, delivery, and recovery (LDR) rooms. Average daily deliveries are around 7, but there can be up to 14 patients with inductions and high-risk antepartum cases. OB triage averages 4-5 third trimester testing patients each day. It is important to provide comprehensive care to both mothers and newborns. The unit collaborates with interdisciplinary support teams including physical therapy and social services. Travelers must be willing to float within the hospital to meet facility needs. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. Travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year. All certifications must be maintained throughout the assignment. Candidates must include all required documentation upon submission. Housing options should be investigated, as availability may be limited.
