Principal Modeling & Simulation Operations Engineer

Job Summary Principal Modeling Analysis & Simulation Operations Engineer – Onsite, El Segundo, CA (2222 E Imperial Hwy, Building R09). Requires U.S. citizenship and a DoD Secret clearance. The role supports Integrated Solutions & Modeling Architecture engineering team in air and space domains, developing variable‑fidelity models and simulations, evaluating mission scenarios, and creating metrics and results products. Responsibilities Support multiple IRADs, CR&Ds, and programs as part of design, development, and integration of variable‑fidelity computer models and simulations. Generate virtual and analytical solutions to identify technology gaps, demonstrate operational benefits of new mission concepts (e.g., Manned‑Unmanned Teaming), develop requirements, test systems, and train operators. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and business alignment. Evaluate end‑to‑end system needs to discover system interfaces and data connectivity requirements across the kill chain. Model system and mission kill chains (e.g., intercepting a threatening ballistic missile) using tools such as Government, Commercial, and Raytheon simulations (AFSIM, STK). Develop metrics and results products that communicate the chain of events that led to an action. Implement algorithms to provide next‑generation performance across the entire system of systems. Required Qualifications Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Experience with radar (RF), electro‑optical (EO), and/or infrared (IR) sensing systems. Proficiency with scripting languages Python, MATLAB, and/or Perl. Experience with AFSIM Military Operations Analysis, wargaming and/or Modeling & Simulation in defense industry. U.S. citizenship and a DoD Secret clearance (required before start date). Preferred Qualifications Active Top Secret clearance. Advanced degree in STEM. Experience with Numerical Optimization Techniques, Analysis of Alternatives, or Design of Experiments. Experience providing briefs and presentations to U.S. government customers. Programming skills in C, C++. What We Offer Salary range: $112,000 – $224,000 USD.
