Fire Alarm Systems Service Technician Responsible for the service and maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems. Ensure components are inspected, tested, operated, and maintained per customer requirements. Act as a mentor, providing on‑job training to less experienced technicians. Provide regular interaction with customers to keep their buildings and occupants safe. Responsibilities Execute comprehensive testing and inspections for systems under maintenance agreements. Create detailed test and inspection reports based on code requirements and customer needs. Swiftly respond to, troubleshoot, and complete necessary repairs to maintain system functionality. Report on activities completed, deferred, or requiring further action or material. Identify code and non‑conformance issues, ensuring adherence to required standards. Quote small repair jobs and provide detailed parts and labor requirements to estimators and sales for large repair projects. Plan work with mentor, Lead Technicians, and Supervisors to strategize tasks effectively. Basic Qualifications 1+ years of experience in the installation and/or maintenance of low‑voltage systems or commercial fire alarm systems. Ability to differentiate types/colors of wire, use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet, carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted. Must obtain NICET I Fire Alarm Certification within 12 months. Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens’ fleet vehicle program. Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or state‑recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred. 3+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems. NICET I Fire Alarm Certification. Experience inspecting fire extinguishers and emergency lighting. Ability to read/understand design and construction documents. Benefits and Compensation Salary range: $49,195 – $84,334 annually. Actual wage offered may vary based on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits.
