Vivo Healthstaff is seeking a qualified, licensed physician to serve as the Administrative Medical Director for a municipal fire department in the Sarasota area. This role delivers comprehensive medical supervision and physician oversight for all clinical aspects of the department's emergency medical services (EMS).

The Medical Director will ensure clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and high-quality pre-hospital emergency care across all emergency medical operations.

• Provide primary medical direction and supervision for all emergency medical services delivered by department personnel.

• Oversee all clinical protocols, treatment guidelines, and standing medical orders for pre-hospital care.

• Maintain complete compliance with Section 401.265 of the Florida Statutes and applicable state and local EMS regulations.

• Monitor, review, and evaluate the overall quality and clinical effectiveness of emergency medical care provided in the field.

• Conduct case reviews, audit clinical performance, and provide medical guidance to department leadership and EMS staff.

• Guide continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives to maintain high standards of patient care.

• Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.

• Licensure: Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Florida.

• Specialty: Board certification in Emergency Medicine, EMS Medicine, or a related acute care specialty preferred.

• Compliance: Thorough understanding of Florida statutory requirements governing emergency medical services (specifically Fl. Stat. 401.265).

• Insurance: Ability to meet standard professional liability and errors & omissions insurance requirements for medical direction services.

• Term Length: Long-term professional contract engagement with an anticipated 5-year term.

• Scope: Focuses strictly on administrative medical direction, clinical governance, quality oversight, and regulatory compliance.
