Hours per Week: 3-12's | 36hrs

Shift: 06:30 AM -7:00 PM

Schedule: Monday-Friday

On Call: Yes, weekend and holiday rotations required.

Enjoy a flat rate $5/hr for call, $3/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-night shift differential, when applicable.

The Phoenix campus, long known for excellent patient care, has over 730 licensed beds, several unique specialty units and is the new home for medical discoveries, thanks to our collaboration with the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix. Additionally, the campus responsibilities include fully integrated multi-specialty and sub-specialty clinics.

This position selects and places surgical instruments, supplies and equipment during surgery. Scrubs and provides instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies during surgical procedure. Participants in the training and orientation of surgical technology staff and students, as assigned. Is proficient to scrub on a minimum of two surgical specialties.

The Cardiovascular Operating Room Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting the physician with advanced tasks during surgical procedures which include cardiopulmonary bypass/heart-lung machine use, cardiac assistive devices, and vascular access and interventions. The CVOR ST must be able to work under high pressure in a fast paced environment.

Core Functions include preparing for surgical procedures, anticipating the surgeon's needs, demonstrating the principles of aseptic technique and universal precautions, ensuring that all surgeon preference cards and pick lists are accurate, assisting with OR turnover between cases, participating in or leading the training and orientation of surgical technology staff and students, providing business support to the department including administrative tasks, following safety procedures, and performing all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards.

Minimum Qualifications include a high school diploma/GED and current basic life support certification, certification as a surgical technologist and one to two years of experience in a surgical technologist role OR three to four years in a surgical technologist role. Where applicable must be registered with State Regulatory Agency. This position must be able to scrub proficiently on a minimum of two surgical specialties.

Preferred Qualifications include additional related education and/or experience.
