Position Overview As the Regional Medical Director, you will be an essential leader in our regional team, actively engaged in the development and execution of our strategic business plans. Your key responsibilities will include: Contributing to the regional strategic business plan, addressing local challenges and ensuring alignment with overall patient care objectives. Building and nurturing essential relationships with senior stakeholders and C-suite executives within healthcare organizations to identify cooperative opportunities. Acquiring in-depth knowledge of regional healthcare ecosystems including health systems, centers of excellence, key opinion leaders, and payers. Acting as a primary medical contact for leading decision makers and helping to design initiatives that align with Otsuka’s business objectives. Recognizing educational needs and deploying resources to address those needs effectively. Leading MSLs to focus on priority institutions and maintain a direct engagement with critical customers in the region. Identifying regional evidence generation needs in collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders. Tracking and enhancing customer experiences through regular feedback and insights. Communicating key customer insights to internal teams to support aligned goals across Otsuka. Facilitating training and resources for the regional team to maintain proficiency in an ever-changing healthcare environment. Establishing metrics to evaluate performance and adapt medical strategies as necessary. Providing coaching and feedback to MSLs to help in their professional development. Cultivating a collaborative, patient‑centric culture that emphasizes innovation and continuous improvement. Qualifications Advanced degree (Pharm.D., M.D., D.O. or Ph.D.) preferred. A minimum of 7-10 years of strategic leadership experience, demonstrating successful partnerships with healthcare customers. Proven ability to communicate and implement strategies within complex healthcare landscapes. Understanding of health system interconnectivity and patient care delivery. Strong analytical skills to navigate complex medical and business landscapes. Commitment to personal and team development. Capability to lead and influence in a matrix organization while thriving under ambiguity. Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time. Compensation Range $209,599.00 - $313,375.00, with additional incentive opportunities based on experience and qualifications.
