Staff Accountant
Location: Norwalk, CA (Onsite)
Industry: Aerospace Manufacturing
Compensation: $50,000 – $75,000 base + bonus

About the Role
Our client, an aerospace manufacturing company based in Norwalk, CA, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their finance team. This is a hands-on role supporting month-end close, reconciliations, and cost accounting activities within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working cross-functionally with operations and production teams, and eager to build their accounting career in a hands-on, regulated industry.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and reclassifications
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and research discrepancies
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Support standard cost accounting activities, including inventory valuation and variance analysis
Assist with preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Support job costing and work-in-process (WIP) reconciliations tied to production activity
Help maintain internal controls and accounting procedures in line with manufacturing best practices
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and FP&A teams
Assist with fixed asset tracking and depreciation schedules
Support ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives as needed

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2–4 years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing or aerospace/defense environment
Working knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes; exposure to cost accounting or inventory accounting a plus
Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP); experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Deltek Costpoint preferred
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
