Responsibilities

• Track project budgets, labor spend, and out-of-pocket expenses against Statements of Work (SOWs), flagging variances proactively
• Prepare and issue accurate, timely client invoices based on accrued labor, approved expenses, and contract milestones
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
• Process journal entries, including entries for cross-entity transactions
• Perform credit card and bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies
• Maintain internal trackers providing real-time visibility into project revenue, expenses, billing status, and receivables
• Manage, audit, and maintain the general ledger in accordance with accounting standards
• Prepare and post accruals, adjusting journal entries, and reclassifications during month-end and year-end close
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are properly supported
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, HR, and leadership to ensure financial data supports business decisions

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
• Minimum 8 years of progressive, hands-on accounting experience
• Prior experience in a senior or lead accounting role with ownership of close processes and financial reporting
• Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end client invoicing, project reconciliations, and collections support
• Extensive Excel experience, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
• QuickBooks Online experience
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and internal control frameworks

Preferred:

• Project-based accounting or job costing experience
• Background in a multi-entity organization
• Experience with Bill.com, Expensify, and/or Hive
