Packaging Technician LV 2 Department: Packaging
Reports To: Materials Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Employee Type: Full-Time Hours: 40 hours/week Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (30 minutes for lunch and 30 minutes for a break) Note: Nights and weekends can be approved by manager. Summary
Handle, fill, and pool products to specified quantities for stock and customer orders Essential Duties & Responsibilities 1. Perform filling operations of liquid or powder products into various containers, ensuring accuracy and consistency, for finished inventory, customer orders and internal use. 2. Ensure that all packaging vials and bottles are stocked and ordered as needed. 3. Communicate within the department of priorities and delays 4. Assures that all work is properly recorded and signed off in lab notebooks, batch records, worksheets, or other appropriate documents. 5. Identify equipment/tools that can improve the packaging department as a whole 6. Lead key pooling projects at scales that exceed standard pool volumes with support from manufacturing and other groups as needed. 7. Conduct minor product testing such as pH, conductivity, and others as needed 8. Complete inventory pulls and counts when needed 9. Act as subject matter expert for product fills, pools, and other related tasks as needed 10. Continually work to improve the packaging department and logistics as a whole. 11. Follow all safety protocols. Other Duties

Education/Experience
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in the field of science from an accredited college or university; or three-four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Having proper pipetting/filling technic is critical to ensure product is handled and filled correctly. The employee may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as gloves, a lab coat, safety glasses or goggles, a face shield, a respirator or other equipment necessary for safe performance of the job requirements. The employee may be required to wear gloves, gowns, hairnets and other clothing in order to protect product integrity. Training Required

Ability to record actions and notations to ensure full traceability of product. This individual needs to be able to openly communicate with the Logistics Department on a day-to-day basis. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals (simple amounts such percentages, volumes and conversion factors). Equipment Used
