Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a CVICU position requiring prior travel experience and 2 years of cardiovascular ICU nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Uses Epic charting system
• Dark gray scrub color required

Requirements

• Active TX or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU nursing experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care/management, and PICC line management
• Experience with ECMO care, nurse driven ECMO protocols, and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) management
• Post cardiac surgery patient care experience (not directly from the OR)
• Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring experience
• Care of ventilated patients and interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and administering continuous IV sedation
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive cardiovascular ICU nursing care including hemodynamic monitoring and management of critically ill cardiac patients
• Complete required onboarding modules onsite during orientation, averaging 4-6 hours for RNs
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not accepted
• Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this role
