Employers Council is seeking a Workplace Investigator to join our team: The Workplace Investigator must be a licensed attorney and will be responsible for conducting fair objective and timely investigations into workplace conduct and climate concerns. Responsibilities include developing investigation plans interviewing witnesses and involved parties collecting and evaluating relevant information and preparing clear well-supported investigative reports.

Hourly Range: $75 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties emphasize impartial workplace fact-finding employment-law context client service and objective reporting rather than law-enforcement functions.

Partner with employer representatives to understand workplace concerns define the scope of the engagement and establish clear objectives for the review.

Develop a thorough and impartial investigation plan tailored to the specific allegations workplace environment and applicable organizational policies.

Gather and review relevant information including documents communications policies employment records and other materials related to the matter.

Conduct respectful objective and effective interviews with individuals related to investigation and others who may have relevant information.

Maintain consistent communication with members throughout the process ensuring responsiveness professionalism and adherence to established timelines.

Evaluate information from multiple sources to identify relevant facts assess the consistency and reliability of accounts and develop a comprehensive understanding of workplace events.

Review employment records organizational documents and workplace practices to determine their relevance to the concerns under review.

Prepare clear well-organized reports that summarize the process analyze relevant information and present factual findings in a neutral and objective manner.

Apply knowledge of employment laws workplace policies and investigation best practices when conducting reviews and analyzing information.

Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion while maintaining fairness objectivity and professionalism throughout each engagement.

Manage multiple engagements and competing priorities while meeting deadlines and maintaining positive member relationships.

Collaborate with legal human resources and consulting professionals as appropriate to support high-quality service delivery.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of investigation methods tools templates and client resources.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Education

Listed below are representative of the knowledge skills and ability required

• Law degree (JD) from an accredited law school and Bar admission is required.
• 2 years of experience conducting investigations preferred.
• Background in employment law/employee relations and/or HR investigations preferred.
• 2 years of experience practicing as an employment attorney preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail; ability to work independently and execute plans to meet employers needs; ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong legal writing and analysis skills
• Ability to meet deadlines to address member needs.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills are required to be successful in this position.
• Ability to put personal biases aside have the confidence to make complex decisions and possess a deep respect for privacy and confidentiality.
• Proficient with word-processing presentation spreadsheet and database software (E.g. Word Excel Outlook and PowerPoint)

• This role requires effective verbal communication including regular phone conversations and active participation in both in-person and virtual meetings.

• Must be willing to travel within Colorado as needed.
• California law license fluency in Spanish and Title IX certification/experience a plus.

Work Environment

General office environment with opportunities to work remotely. To support engagement collaboration and meaningful team interaction employees are expected to participate in a camera-on meeting culture during virtual meetings. May require o ccasional lifting.
