Job Details Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN) Location: Murphysboro, Illinois Start Date: 09/14/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour day shifts Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 - $2,130 Environment: 15-bay PACU with a team-oriented, well-organized surgical recovery setting Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse license in Illinois, or the ability to obtain one before the start date At least 1 year of PACU nursing, perioperative nursing, or acute care nursing experience Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to recognize post-anesthesia changes quickly Comfort working in a fast-paced surgical recovery unit and healthcare environment Ability to participate in primary and backup call rotation, including weekends as scheduled Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care for patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU Monitor vital signs, pain levels, airway status, and overall post-operative recovery Support safe patient flow through the Post Anesthesia Care Unit and collaborate with the perioperative team Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately Follow PACU standards, nursing protocols, and patient safety best practices Maintain a calm, reassuring presence for patients and families during recovery Participate in scheduled call coverage as assigned Apply now to explore this travel nursing job in Murphysboro, Illinois, and join a supportive PACU healthcare team today.
