Camp Community College (Div) | Work Location: Suffolk Working Title: Workforce Skilled Trades-Pipefitting-Adjunct Instructor. Wages are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Sensitive Position: No. Part‑time instructor contracted on a course‑by‑course basis, up to 29 hours per week and no more than 1500 hours per year. Responsibilities Provide instruction, support, assessment, and mentorship to community college non‑credit learners. Teach in classrooms, laboratories, individual conferences, and related contexts to help learners develop interests and abilities. Fully participate in the college mission and community. Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials that maximize documented student learning. Assess learner performance and progress, and provide appropriate feedback. Promote higher‑order thinking and problem‑solving among educational participants. Ensure adherence to established standards for educational quality. Collaborate with the college to meet industry credential attainment and skill enhancement goals. Work occasionally in a hybrid format; primarily in‑person. Qualifications Knowledge of industry‑related safety topics, tools, equipment, practices, processes, and performance tasks. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and customer‑service orientation. Good computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to teach, facilitate skill development, assess learner performance, and align outcomes within courses. Ability to serve the needs of traditional and non‑traditional students. Ability to adapt to state requirements, local needs, and national trends. Professional‑level experience and appropriate certification are critical; teaching experience is helpful but not required. Additional Considerations Prior teaching or training experience in a workplace or community/technical college setting. Professional Certification/Certificate, if applicable.
