Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Material Handling Specialist to join our team in Louisville, Kentucky. This role ensures the seamless flow of government and company-owned inventory, maintaining high standards of our supply chain operations. Location Louisville, Kentucky Job Category Supply Chain Requirements High School diploma or GED required (Minimum Education) Basic understanding of inventory control principles and material handling functions Basic Excel and email knowledge Must be able to stand for long periods, stoop, bend, reach, climb, walk substantial distances and lift up to 40 pounds Valid driver's license; successful completion of mandatory forklift training and possession of a valid driver's license Valid forklift with 10,000 lb. capacity; ability to operate various equipment Must be able to consistently count accurately; understand and accurately input computer transactions associated with inventory management Basic carpentry skills for packaging and crating functions associated with shipping complex defense products Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Must be able to follow established safety rules and practices, and ISO standards Strong understanding of inventory control; ability to use material handling equipment safely Ability to train others to perform material handling functions Preferred Qualifications Valid rigging certificate and proficiency with hand signals associated with rigging trade Capability to rig cables, chains, or other equipment when moving heavy equipment Responsibilities Receive, store, and issue government and company-owned inventory Perform cycle counting activities and ensure inventory accuracy through proper transaction input Verify accuracy of work, complete paperwork and computer transactions, and maintain quality workmanship Research and resolve issues related to inventory activities Operate material handling equipment safely and perform routine checks and maintenance Implement and maintain 5S principles and housekeeping standards in work area Assist Team Leader with distribution of daily work assignments and train peers Assist in facilitation of weekly team meetings and champion process improvements Perform packaging, crating, banding, wrapping, and tagging for secure movement and storage of materials Interpret drawings and MIL spec related to packaging and crating requirementsPerform complex rigging and movement of work‑in‑process material and finished goods Execute responsibilities with minimal supervision by Team Leader or Workforce Leader Use computerized system to accurately document time and attendance Perform other duties as assigned Security & Employment Clearance Level – Must Be Able to Obtain: Confidential Clearance Level – Must Currently Possess: None U.S. Person Required: Yes U.S. Citizenship Required: Yes Travel Percentage: 0% Relocation Available: No Pay Information This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which determines wages.
