Food Service Worker

The Food Service Worker performs a variety of functions related to the safe assembly, distribution, and service of food for hospital patients, visitors, and staff. This position does not require patient care. Essential functions include attending department meetings, anticipating and meeting customer needs, maintaining cleanliness of work areas, adhering to all HACCP standards, and supporting department goals to maintain or improve operations and customer satisfaction. The position also involves working in various tray line, cafeteria, and kitchen positions, setting up and stocking food stations, assembling patient trays, cleaning equipment and floors, operating dish machines and trash compactors, preparing additional food items, and regularly working on sanitation projects assigned by the manager. Additionally, the Food Service Worker assists with training of new employees and cross-training of fellow employees.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? Yes.

Licenses and Credentials: Experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Staff adheres to all I C.A.R.E. Standards. Must be able to read menu items in English (exception is the pot-washer position). Must be able to communicate in English (exception is the pot-washer position). Must be able to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Work requires ability to push trucks and carts with food and supplies.
