To learn more about UCI Health, visit Your Role on the Team Position Summary Incumbent performs the full range of cardiac diagnostic ultrasound procedures and more complex specialized procedures on adult and pediatric patients, including M‑mode, 2‑ and 3‑dimensional, color Doppler, pulsed Doppler, continuous wave Doppler, transesophageal echo, pharmacological and exercise stress echo, Holter monitors, and ECGs. The technologist recognizes and describes abnormal findings and tailors the procedure to provide a comprehensive exam. The cardiac sonographer determines when to use echo contrast agent or agitated saline injections according to the CVC policy. They prepare and position patients, adjust equipment to best demonstrate the area of interest, operate stationary and portable equipment, and operate imaging systems. The role may require rotating shifts, assignments, and after‑hour on‑call. The Sr. Ultrasound Technologist assists in training fellows and students as assigned. Required Qualifications Must possess A.R.D.M.S. and/or CCI Certification Must have two years experience in cardiac ultrasound Must have two years experience in adult echocardiology Ability to regularly travel locally to ambulatory clinic off‑site locations Preferred Qualifications Registered in pediatric echocardiography – RDCS Must have two years of college with emphasis in Allied Health Sciences, preferably Diagnostic Medical Sonography Licenses And Certifications Basic Life Support Education Not specified.
