Housekeeping Helper


Position Summary:


The Housekeeping Helper supports the housekeeping team by performing a variety of cleaning and service-related tasks to maintain the cleanliness and comfort of guest accommodations and public areas. This role assists Room Attendants and House Attendants, delivers guest requests, and ensures all areas meet resort standards.


Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist Room Attendants and House Attendants with daily cleaning and servicing of guest rooms, lanais, public areas, restrooms, and offices.

• Deliver guest and homeowner requests such as linens, towels, ice, and water.

• Clean lanais and patio furniture, ensuring they are free of debris, stains, and damage.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping carts, closets, vans, and warehouse.

• Replenish supplies and linen in guest rooms and storage areas.

• Pick up soiled linen and trash from rooms and deliver to appropriate areas.

• Report maintenance issues or repair needs in guest rooms and public areas.

• Assist with special projects and deep cleaning tasks as assigned.

• Follow all safety procedures and resort standards.

Essential Duties:

• Clean and sanitize balconies, furniture, and patio doors.

• Sweep, mop, and remove debris from floors without sweeping over balcony edges.

• Clean and restock housekeeping service vehicles and carts.

• Fold and store linen received from laundry.

• Monitor and report inventory levels and supply shortages.

• Greet guests and provide assistance when needed.

• Handle lost and found items properly.

• Maintain control of hotel-issued keys at all times.

• Notify office coordinator of any dead plants or needed repairs.

Working Conditions:

• Indoor and outdoor work environments, including guest rooms, lanais, and public areas.

• Exposure to cleaning chemicals and commercial cleaning equipment.

• Must be able to work flexible shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Equipment Used:

• Housekeeping carts, vacuums, mops, brooms, buckets, and other cleaning tools.

• Cleaning solutions and disinfectants.

• Service vehicles, radios, and phones.

Physical & Mental Demands:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Push/pull housekeeping carts weighing over 50 lbs.

• Lift and carry items up to 20 lbs.

• Kneel, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and reach above/below shoulder level.

• Work independently and as part of a team.

Communication Requirements:

• Must be able to communicate clearly with guests, team members, and supervisors.

• Use of phone and radio for internal communication.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to read and follow assignment sheets and cleaning instructions.

• Valid driver's license preferred.

• Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience is a plus.
