Responsibilities Design and Analysis: Perform calculations to ensure structures can withstand various loads and forces and stamp our own drawings. Analyze building materials for strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness. Work with design engineers to produce standard designs. Project Management: Be the single point of contact for all design engineers sending work out to multiple structural consultants. Manage the workload of structural consultants with quickest turnaround in mind. Participate in meetings with structural consultants to ensure they have inputs and produce a high-quality stamped drawing. Manage project timelines and budgets relative to structural analysis. Support questions from the construction site related to structural analysis. Compliance and Standards: Ensure all designs adhere to local, state, and federal building codes and regulations. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve design and construction issues. Provide technical advice and support during construction phases. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and present reports, proposals, and other documentation. Maintain accurate records of design changes and project progress. Coach new engineers in making cost effective and easy to manufacture designs. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus. Experience: 5+ years of experience in structural engineering or related field. Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license. Skills Proficiency in structural analysis software and other engineering design tools. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work. Abilities Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time. Sitting for extended periods of time. Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction. Finger dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers, such as using a keyboard. Listen to and understand information presented through spoken words and sentences. Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
