Occupational Therapist (OT)

Role Overview: The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care within a skilled nursing facility environment, focusing on improving patients' functional abilities and quality of life. Key Responsibilities Develop, assess, and modify individualized treatment plans for patients based on physician referrals. Oversee and evaluate care provided by OT Assistants, rehab aides, and students. Document patient progress accurately and timely using therapy software. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. Establish realistic goals and adjust treatment strategies accordingly. Assist in patient activities of daily living and support recovery from surgeries, illnesses, or injuries. Maintain professional relationships, uphold confidentiality, and adhere to facility policies and legal standards. Participate in community health initiatives as appropriate. Qualifications & Skills Current NBCOT certification and valid state licensure. Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT). CPR certification (obtained upon hire or during orientation). Proficiency in Microsoft Office and good communication skills. Ability to make independent decisions, demonstrate professionalism, and collaborate effectively. Physical ability to perform essential functions, including mobility and manual tasks. Additional Requirements Maintain licensure and CPR certification during employment. Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and patient rights standards.
