Rate Regulation Branch Rate Regulation Division – Rate Filing Bureau, Los Angeles III. Job Description and Duties Plan, assign, and direct staff in the review and evaluation of data upon which insurance rates are based. Analyze rates, rating plans, and rating systems of various rating organizations and insurers. Supervise staff and provide guidance on complex rate issues. Participate in negotiations and hearings on rates, acting as a technical consultant to the Insurance Commissioner. Meet and correspond with insurers and insurer representatives to address rate-related matters. This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The appointee is required to complete a Statement of Economic Interest (Form 700), including an Assuming Office filing within 30 days of appointment, annual filings, and a Leaving Office filing within 30 days of separation.
