We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Contract Prep Cook to join our team at our Richmond, VA location. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and portion ingredients for meals according to recipes and specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes as directed by the head chef
- Monitor stock levels and notify the kitchen manager of any shortages
- Properly store and label food items to ensure freshness and prevent cross-contamination
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and quality food service
- Follow all company policies and procedures
Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Valid food handler's certification (preferred)
