Procurement Specialist (Vehicle Service Center)

Job Title Procurement Specialist Qualifications B.S. Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business Administration, Accounting, or in related field OR Graduate from a standard four-year high school or equivalent or 2 years of general office duties experience and one year of purchasing Ability to efficiently operate a personal computer using Word, Access, Microsoft Outlook and a calculator Ability to work with the public and JPSD employees in a professional manner in solving purchasing/vendor related problems Knowledge of bookkeeping and general office procedures Excellent telephone etiquette skills Literacy in reading and comprehension Ability to type 30 wpm Must have a high level of integrity Reports To Transportation VSC Supervisor Essential Functions Works independently in a fast paced environment Plans work procedures and reviews for accuracy Updates and maintains accurate vendor database Submits invoices for payment Updating and filing of all documents Processing of purchase requisitions daily per guidelines Assists with answering telephone calls and responding appropriately to the request of information Orders parts and supplies for the District as it relates to transportation services Creates Purchase Orders Communicates with accounts payable and budget departments Maintains budget string updates weekly, for the district as it relates to transportation services Communicates with vendors Responsible for all parts and/or supplies delivered to the appropriate terminals Prepares necessary reports as needed Performs other related duties as requested or assigned (Will be discussed with Supervisor) Evaluation Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
