About the Role:

The Utility Worker-Dining plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall efficiency of dining facilities within various settings such as cafeterias, restaurants, or institutional dining areas. This position ensures that all dining areas are clean, well-stocked, and prepared to provide a pleasant experience for guests and staff alike. The role involves supporting food service operations by assisting with basic food preparation, dishwashing, and waste management, contributing to a smooth and hygienic dining environment. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and repetitive motions.
• Basic understanding of sanitation and hygiene practices in a food service environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a dining or food service environment.
• Familiarity with commercial dishwashing equipment and cleaning chemicals.
• Basic food handling or safety certification (e.g., ServSafe or equivalent).

Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize dining areas, including tables, chairs, floors, and service counters, to maintain a hygienic environment.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of dining spaces, including arranging furniture and replenishing supplies such as napkins, utensils, and condiments.
• Operate dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, utensils, and kitchenware efficiently and safely.
• Dispose of waste and recyclables properly, ensuring compliance with environmental and organizational policies.
• Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks as needed, such as peeling, chopping, or assembling simple items.
• Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and dining essentials, reporting shortages to supervisors for timely replenishment.
• Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to address any immediate dining area needs or guest concerns promptly and professionally.
