Job objective:Works with slasher tender and slasher helper to accomplish all job requirements of the slashing processEssential Job FunctionsObtain full section beam, haul to and position at slasher creel move empty section beam to storage rack and place in proper place on rackDoff full warps from slasher and place empty beam in slasherRecord production information and make out ticketHaul full warp beams to storage rack and return with emptyWeigh slasher waste, push to waste house and place in proper containerClean slasher at set outLease endsAssist lay ends in expansion combPatrol and inspect for qualityCut laps off rolls and beamsObtain and mix sizeGreases slasherMust be able to use overhead hoist to haul warps weighing up to 1500 lbsMust be able to operate a forkliftMust be able to climb and use a ladderMust be able to push waste buggies weighing up to 900 lbsMust be able to work safely around hot steam and liquidMust be able to work in temperatures slightly above the comfort zoneMust be able to sweep and keep work area clean and organizedMust be able to work safely around moving partsMust be able to read basic written instructionsMust be able to write legiblyMust be able to perform simple mathMust be able to distinguish colors.Must be able to wear ear plugs, respirator/dust mask, goggles/eye protection, and other protective pieces of equipment.Must be able to meet Plant schedules and attendance requirements as specified in Company PoliciesEquipment:West Point and Griffin Slashers, overhead hoist, forklift, section and loom beams, lease rods, lease strings, sizing materials, tape, scissors, waste buggy, knife, broom, cut resistant glove, goggles, earplugs, respirator/dust maskCritical Skills/Expertise:Safe operation of a slasher, safe operation of overhead hoist, safe handling of section and loom beams, safe operation of a forklift, understand a slashing order, proper lifting/handling techniques, knowledge of yarn styles, ability to work with other associates to keep slasher in production
