Production Supervisor I

Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Production Supervisor I at its Lynnwood, WA location. Job Summary The Production Supervisor I leads and directs a team of employees in an assigned area of operations such as metal fabrication, assembly, and/or test. The Production Supervisor I is accountable for maintaining a safe working environment, adhering to quality standards, and meeting customer demand schedules within established cost goals. Supervision may include the management of employees on more than one shift. Essential Functions Review and understand daily key performance indicators to evaluate current status and gap to plan, and use this data to drive daily problem solving (8 Step, 5 Why, Cause and Effect, fishbone) when required. Ensure timely identification of quality issues using the non-conforming materials process, ensuring scrap and rework are properly processed. Serve as liaison to other groups, product lines, and functional areas to ensure products are built, assembled, and/or tested within appropriate parameters. Review the daily allocation of resources to drive production schedule to meet established customer requirements. Make staffing decisions in accordance with human‑resource procedures to build and grow the team to meet the business needs. Develop, coach, and mentor employees using performance planning to drive employee and business growth. Perform any other tasks assigned by supervisor or management. Non‑Essential Functions Collaborate with Engineering and Quality to define and modify manufacturing instructions. Partner with supply chain to develop a material replenishment system for the manufacturing areas. Ensure equipment complies with calibration and maintenance procedures and requirements. Minimum Qualifications Experience: 2+ years of experience in the field or a related area. Knowledge: General understanding of cellular manufacturing practices; basic understanding of continuous improvement skills (standard work, 5S, material replenishment); intermediate skill level with MS Office. Skills / Abilities: Effectively communicate (written and verbal) with all levels of the business and present to groups both small and large; align customer demand with manufacturing capacity to develop labor planning and allocations; use data to determine root causes of issues and drive corrective action. Education / Certification: BA or BS degree in Operations Management or a related field. Eligibility: Position may require access to controlled data; only US persons considered. US Department of Defense contractor bound by ITAR regulations. Preferred Qualifications Previous supervisory experience within aerospace or electronics manufacturing. Familiarity with web‑based software. Work Conditions Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Employees may be required to use safety equipment (eye safety glasses, gowns, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps, and other PPE). Exposure to loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust, or fumes is possible. Standing ~25% of time, sitting ~75%, lifting/pushing up to 25 lbs. Mental/visual demands include computer work. Workspace is a cubicle/desk. Benefits Health care, dental, vision, life and disability insurance starting first day of the month. Salary Range $87,765 – $111,264 annually (USD). Salary may vary based on experience, responsibilities, skills, training, and qualifications.
