Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Day shift, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM; 36 or 48 hours per week available; every other weekend required; floating to other units as needed

Highlights:

• 13-26 week contract assignments available
• Post Open Heart Recovery Unit specializing in cardiac surgery patients, thoracotomies, esophagogastrectomies, and TAVR procedures
• Advanced critical care environment with CRRT, Impella, IABP, VAD, and ECMO capabilities
• Target nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1 nights, 2:1 weekends
• Epic EMR system with self-scheduling model
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, and rapid response teams

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience required
• CVICU or open heart experience mandatory
• Previous travel nursing experience required (not accepting first-time travelers)
• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Core skills required: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, ECMO, IABP, post-cardiac surgery care, pulmonary artery line monitoring, TAVR, ventricular assist devices, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line management, continuous IV sedation, cardiac drip titration, ventilated patient care, ABG interpretation, and isolation precautions
• Preferred skills: port access/management, vasoactive drip titration, chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, and ventilator management
