Senior Disaster Recovery Specialist

We're looking for an experienced Disaster Recovery (DR) Consultant to provide execution-focused support in strengthening our enterprise disaster recovery capabilities. This role will focus on enhancing recovery planning, improving testing and validation practices, and strengthening second-line-of-defense oversight to ensure critical systems can be effectively recovered during disruption scenarios. Key Responsibilities Partner with Technology, Infrastructure, and Application teams to review and enhance DR plans Validate recovery strategies, including RTOs, RPOs, application recovery, and infrastructure failover capabilities Identify gaps in recovery readiness related to dependencies, data integrity, and environment availability Support design and execution of DR testing, including failover exercises, tabletop exercises, and simulations Assess recovery procedures and recommend practical improvements Ensure DR plans align with critical business services and operational priorities Propose governance enhancements to strengthen second line of defense oversight Track remediation efforts and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders Support audit, regulatory, and internal governance review preparation Required Qualifications 9–10+ years of experience in Disaster Recovery, IT Resilience, or Technology Risk Hands‑on experience developing and validating DR plans, including application recovery and infrastructure failover Experience supporting or executing DR testing initiatives Strong understanding of RTOs, RPOs, data recovery, and system dependencies Ability to work effectively with technology, infrastructure, and business teams Strong analytical, problem‑solving, written, and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience in financial services or other regulated industries Familiarity with cyber recovery and ransomware recovery scenarios Experience aligning DR with Business Continuity and Critical Business Services frameworks Knowledge of frameworks, including the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council, and the International Organization for Standardization #J-18808-Ljbffr Phyton Talent Advisors
