Senior Business Intelligence Developer – Contract
Our client, a large healthcare organization, is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise BI solutions. This individual will build scalable data models, pipelines, and dashboards; translate business needs into technical solutions; and help establish best practices across the BI environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize scalable business intelligence solutions.
- Build and maintain ETL processes supporting data transformation, staging, cleansing, and integration.
- Create complex data models, dimensional schemas, and reporting structures.
- Develop dashboards and reports that track key performance indicators and operational performance.
- Write and optimize advanced SQL and PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts.
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather analytical requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions.
- Analyze large and diverse datasets to identify trends, insights, and opportunities.
- Support data quality, governance, security, and development standards.
- Troubleshoot complex reporting, data pipeline, and performance issues.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior BI developers.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum development processes.
- Evaluate emerging BI technologies and recommend improvements when appropriate.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
- Approximately eight years of IT experience, with a strong focus on business intelligence, data modeling, reporting, and analytics.
- Advanced SQL and PL/SQL development skills, including query and database performance optimization.
- Experience designing and developing ETL processes using SSIS, Talend, or a comparable platform.
- Experience with business intelligence platforms such as Power BI, Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing, OLTP and OLAP models, and dimensional modeling.
- Experience working with large-scale datasets and multiple data sources.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership.
- Experience working within Agile and Scrum environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other BI developers.
- Experience leading complex or enterprise-level BI initiatives.
