Here's What You Need

• Associate's Degree Nursing is required And
• Bachelor's Degree Nursing is preferred
• 5 Years Experience as a registered nurse with previous experience as a charge nurse or similar leadership role (i.e. Charge nurse, committee chair, preceptor) is required
• 3 Years Emergency and/or critical care nursing is preferred
• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire is required And
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days is required And
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required And
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 60 Days is required And
• NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program Upon Hire is required
• Practices within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act. Proactive problem solving skills, good interpersonal, verbal, written and computer skills. Excellent prioritization skills.

What You Will Do

• Represents facility administration after business hours and on weekends
• Rounds throughout the facility on a frequent (at least 2 times/12 hours shift) and consistent basis
• Responds to emergency, rapid response or clinically complex events and serves as a clinical leader during the emergency situations. Assures that resources are allocated to meet the patient/visitor needs and the evaluation for the code is done promptly.
• Facilitates appropriate utilization of beds, assuring that patient needs, diagnosis, and acuity are appropriately matched to the unit scope of service, level of care and assigned nursing competency/skill Responds to patient, visitor and physician concerns
