System Software Programmer – Project Lead (Sr Rhapsody Developer)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Rhapsody Developer / System Software Programmer – Project Lead to support a high-impact Advanced Molecular Detection (AMD) / Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) initiative. This role may also support laboratory systems, disease surveillance platforms, and data modernization efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for system integration initiatives and project execution
• Gather and document requirements; perform gap analysis with business and technical stakeholders
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support Rhapsody-based integration solutions
• Create and maintain system documentation, specifications, and architecture diagrams
• Develop ETL processes, automation workflows, and advanced data routing solutions
• Build and enhance Rhapsody routes to support new data elements and formats
• Transform and parse data formats including XML, CSV, SOAP, HL7, and others
• Utilize Symphonia Mapping Language (SML) and JavaScript (ECMA/E4X)
• Develop and validate advanced SQL queries with complex joins
• Implement and support SOAP-based web services
• Monitor and optimize production routes using Rhapsody management tools
• Perform debugging, troubleshooting, error correction, and reprocessing
• Lead testing efforts including validations and user acceptance testing
• Participate in and conduct code reviews; enforce best practices and standards
• Support system upgrades, configuration changes, and environment setup
• Ensure system availability, performance, security, and compliance
• Mentor team members and advise on integration best practices
• Coordinate work efforts, timelines, and status reporting

Required Skills

• 5+ years' experience with Rhapsody Integration Engine (v6+)
• 5+ years Symphonia Mapping Language (SML)
• 5+ years HL7 (v2.3.1 – v2.5.1; ORU & ORM message types)
• 5+ years JavaScript
• 3+ years Advanced SQL (complex joins)
• 2+ years XML / XSD / XPath
• 2+ years SOAP Web Services

Education
