Radiation Therapist (RTT) Lancaster, Ohio
Under general supervision, the Radiation Therapist performs radiotherapy procedures as prescribed by a physician according to established standards and practices. This role provides patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of licensure, certification, registration, and/or assessed competencies. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM4:30 PM (8 hours), with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Associate degree in radiography with a certification in radiation therapy; graduate of a JRCERT-approved school registered through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy; State of Ohio licensed radiation therapist; ARRT license; CPR certification.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in radiation therapy; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) experience in Radiation Therapy; Ohio Department of Health license preferred upon submission; TrueBeam and Aria experience preferred; 12 years of radiation therapy experience preferred.
• Delivers a prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy using radiation therapy equipment according to established practices and standards.
• Obtains patient history, answers patient questions, and explains procedures; observes patients for unusual reactions or events during treatment.
• Follows established departmental and facility policies, procedures, quality improvement objectives, and safety/environmental/infection control standards.
• Schedules patients for treatments; interfaces with the physicist at initiation of treatment; consults with supportive care physicians, nurses, and social workers.
• Checks prescription, diagnosis, chart, and patient identification to ensure accurate treatments.
• Prepares electronic and/or written documentation as required, such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress reports, and other professional reports.
• Prepares rooms and equipment for patients; transfers immobilized patients to the treatment couch and positions patients in prescribed anatomical positions for treatment.
• Reinforces recommendations given by physicians, dietitians, or other care providers regarding reactions to treatment and care of the irradiated area, including prevention or treatment of generalized and local side effects.
• Performs verification and port film exposures for all treated areas and makes corrections or changes to therapy as directed by the physician.
• Enhances professional growth through participation in education programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
