Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Medical Surgical RN to provide compassionate and comprehensive care to adult patients battling cancer, undergoing palliative treatments, and recovering from surgeries. The role involves working within a 29-bed unit with a focus on oncology, urology, and telemetry patients, ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained.

Responsibilities:

• Administer direct patient care, including telemetry monitoring, central line draws, blood administration, and port management.
• Assist with complex procedures such as bone marrow aspirations, pleurx chest tube management, and PCA pump operation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Document clinical activities accurately within the Cerner charting system.
• Float within scope to meet facility staffing needs and respond to patient care demands.
• Comply with infection control protocols, including flu and COVID vaccination requirements.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid WV or Compact RN license; pending licenses accepted.
• Demonstrate at least 2 years of RN experience in a medical-surgical or oncology setting.
• Be certified in BLS; ACLS and PALS preferred.
• Possess proficiency in telemetry, central line draws, and chemotherapy administration (preferred).
• Capable of performing blood draws, ports management, and assisting with complex procedures.
• Have a clean, active license with no probationary actions.
