Accounts Payable Coordinator

Accounts Payable Coordinator Nottoway County, Virginia is seeking qualified applicants for the position of a Full-Time Accounts Payable Coordinator. This position would be under supervision of the Finance Director. Position Summary This position provides support for the County’s accounts payable functions. Responsibilities include processing invoices, preparing journal entries and reconciliations, maintaining financial records, assisting with customer accounts, and supporting internal financial controls and audit documentation as it relates to Accounts Payable and some Accounts Receivables. Core Duties and Responsibilities Process and reconcile all aspects of accounts payable for County departments and Constitutional Officers Process checks and ACH payments as necessary in compliance with County policies Audit invoices submitted for correct authorization and general ledger coding prior to payment Process employee expense reimbursements and ensure proper compliance with IRS regulations Interpret county policies and applicable state policies to vendors, the public and county employees Manage landfill billing, analyze accounts for delinquency, and communicate with customers accordingly Assist Treasurer’s office with payments applied to billed accounts Assist customers and vendors with questions related to their accounts Perform a variety of general clerical duties including data entry, maintaining files and records, processing and distributing mail and checks as needed Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; additional education or experience in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred. Must possess general knowledge of modern technology, computer systems, and common office software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Must have the ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment and communicate professionally (orally and written) with employees and the public. Must possess the ability to work independently and in teams, prioritize workload, and maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
