Senior Legal Counsel (Houston)

Schneider Electric has a hybrid (2–3 days per week onsite) Senior Legal Counsel opportunity for candidates with at least five years of commercial contracting experience, based in one of the following hub locations: Boston, MA; Nashville, TN; Raleigh, NC; Houston, TX or Chicago, IL. In this role, you will act as a strategic partner to various business units, providing legal oversight and leading the negotiation of complex equipment, software, and service agreements. Roles & Responsibilities Contract Leadership: Lead the drafting, analysis, and negotiation of complex sales, software, and service agreements of varying scope and complexity. Strategic Partnership: Serve as a dedicated business counsel, providing actionable legal advice to internal stakeholders to support product offerings and customer projects. Conflict Resolution: Provide proactive pre-dispute guidance to mitigate risk and resolve customer conflicts early in the process. Operational Excellence: Drive thought leadership by developing best-in-class contracting templates, clause libraries, and negotiation playbooks. Compliance & Risk: Ensure business activities, policies, and transactions align with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. Training: Develop and deliver legal training programs to internal business clients to enhance their commercial fluency. We know skills and competencies show up in many different ways. If you do not necessarily meet every requirement listed below, we still encourage you to apply. Qualifications  This job might be for you if you have: Education & Licensure: A J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and active Bar admission in at least one state.  Proven Experience: 5+ years directly handling, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial equipment and service agreements. Proven Experience on high value contracts in the Data Center or EPC space preferred In-house experience is a plus; high-level law firm experience will be considered. Strategic Communication: The ability to translate intricate legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance for global teams. Execution & Tenacity: A proactive, solution-oriented negotiator with a high-energy approach and meticulous attention to detail. Business Mindset: A strong commitment to serving as an engaged, collaborative partner to the business. Growth Mindset: An intellectually curious lifelong learner who stays current on legal, technology, and business trends. Tech-Savviness: Comfortable leveraging legal technology and supporting new projects that incorporate tech-driven solutions. Project Management: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously. Bring your legal talent to a team that's ready to support your success — apply today!At Schneider, we believe that every employee is a talent who deserves equal opportunities. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level.
