Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be crucial in guiding patients through both routine care and critical situations. Your responsibilities will include performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while managing both invasive and noninvasive ventilation in various care environments. Your responsibilities will encompass:

• Evaluating respiratory status by conducting focused examinations, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency, and identifying the need for respiratory interventions.
• Administering evidence-based therapies by delivering oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments in emergency, critical care, and acute settings.
• Overseeing ventilation and airways by assisting with artificial airway placement, initiating and adjusting both invasive and noninvasive ventilation, monitoring patient responses, and reacting swiftly to clinical changes or emergencies.
• Supporting patients and the healthcare team by educating patients and their families, serving as a clinical resource, collaborating with physicians and nurses, and assisting in stabilizing newborns during deliveries when necessary.
• Ensuring equipment and safety by setting up, operating, and sanitizing respiratory equipment; maintaining readiness and conducting preventive maintenance; safely transporting ventilated patients; and adhering to all infection control standards.

Qualifications Required:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
• Associate Degree.
• (CRT-State) Certified Respiratory Therapist, or (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support or CPR certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.

We are equipped with three helipads, new ICU and Medical/Surgical floors, and burn care services. Additionally, we offer a CARF accredited Inpatient Rehabilitation program and are an ACS verified Level II Trauma Center.
