Accounting Policy Officer

The Accounting Policy Officer will provide technical accounting support to senior management and business units by interpreting existing and new accounting guidance related to new products, significant/non-routine transactions, and other financial events.

The role includes preparing accounting memos, maintaining accounting policies, monitoring emerging accounting developments, and evaluating their impact on the bank’s financial and regulatory reporting.

This position requires strong expertise in:

• U.S. GAAP
• IFRS
• SEC Rules & Regulations
• Bank Regulatory Reporting

CPA candidates with Big 4 accounting experience are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, analyze, and provide technical accounting guidance for:
• New products
• Regulatory/accounting updates
• Significant or non-routine transactions
• Prepare accounting policy memorandums and technical position papers
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external auditors
• Monitor emerging US GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory developments
• Assess impact on financial and regulatory reporting
• Support implementation of new accounting standards
• Review financial disclosures and reporting for compliance
• Maintain and update accounting policies
• Assist with ad-hoc accounting and reporting projects

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Mandatory)
• CPA certification preferred
• 6+ years of technical accounting experience with:
• Big 4 Accounting Firm OR
• Combination of Big 4 and industry experience
• Strong knowledge of:
• US GAAP
• IFRS
• SEC reporting regulations
• Banking industry experience is a plus
