Physical Therapist Assistant
Job Summary:
Harbor Health & Rehab, a leading provider of rehabilitation services in East Chicago, Indiana, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping our residents recover from illnesses or injuries and regain their independence. Our state-of-the-art facility offers a dynamic and supportive environment for our staff to excel and grow.
Responsibilities:
Assist licensed physical therapists in the delivery of patient care, including administering therapeutic treatments, exercises, and modalities
Conduct physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a physical therapist, including exercises, stretches, and modalities
Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the physical therapist
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
Maintains accurate and detailed records of patient treatments and progress
Ensures a safe and clean environment for patients, staff, and facilities
Requirements:
Current certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the state of Indiana
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in physical therapy or related field preferred
Previous experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, preferably in a rehab or acute care setting
Ability to lift, move, or transfer patients weighing up to 50 pounds
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
