Warehouse OperatorWe are looking for a talented Warehouse Operator to join our team in Scarborough, ME.In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:Under some supervision, follow established procedures and guidelines to receive, handle, store, perform system transactions and dispatch goods in a factory or warehouse.Check for damage and for discrepancies between goods and invoices.Accurately sort, label, store goods and arrange storage to optimize warehouse space.Pick, pack, and dispatch incoming and outgoing goods according to written or verbal requests orders.Operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery.Maintain clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping tasks and machine cleaning tasks and perform planned operator care and maintenance tasks as needed.External Qualifications and CompetenciesTo be successful in this role you will need the following:Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.Requires certification to operate powered industrial vehicles (reach trucks, order pickers, pallet rider, etc..) and/or other heavy machinery.Previous warehouse experience is required, stock picker experience preferred.Must be able to physically lift 50 pounds occasionally, wear required personal protective equipmentPlease note, this is a fast-paced warehouse environment, there will be a lot of standing and lifting.Education, Licenses, CertificationsHigh school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.This position does not require any Department of Transportation (DOT) related pre-screenings.Additional Responsibilities Unique to this PositionShippingPrepare and process outbound shipments (LTL, parcel, freight, pickups)Verify orders for accuracy before shipment (part numbers, quantities, documentation)Package items to prevent damage during transitGenerate shipping labels, bills of lading (BOL), and required paperworkCoordinate with carriers and schedule pickupsTrack shipments and resolve delivery issuesReceivingReceive incoming shipments and verify against purchase orders (POs)Inspect deliveries for damage, shortages, or discrepanciesAccurately enter received items into inventory systemsTag, label, and stock items in appropriate bin locationsNotify appropriate departments of received goodsProcess returns, cores, and warranty items as neededInventory & Warehouse ControlMaintain accurate inventory counts and assist with cycle countsEnsure proper organization and cleanliness of warehouse areasMonitor stock levels and report shortages or overstock situationsMaintain bin locations and storage accuracyAssist with inventory auditsDocumentation & ComplianceMaintain accurate shipping and receiving recordsEnsure compliance with company policies and safety regulationsProperly file and track shipping/receiving documentsFollow hazardous materials handling procedures when applicableQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent1–3 years of shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience (preferred)Basic computer skills (Excel, email, shipping software)Forklift certification (preferred or willing to obtain)Skills & CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and accuracyGood organizational and time management skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentEffective communication and teamworkProblem-solving and troubleshooting abilitiesPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift/move up to 50 lbs regularlyStanding, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shiftAbility to operate warehouse equipment safelyWork EnvironmentWarehouse and parts department settingExposure to varying temperatures and equipment noiseInteraction with carriers, vendors, and internal staffAbout UsCummins is an equal opportunity employer.
