About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Academic Officer (CAO) to join their team. The CAO will be a key leader in academic programming, staff development, and student achievement, with a specific focus on empowering boys and young men of color. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the school environment is one of trust, high expectations, and respect, and that social justice principles are integrated into the curriculum. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and preparing students for success in post-secondary education, technical careers, and beyond, and must be committed to the core values of the organization, including people and relationships, community, self-determination, health and wellness, and liberatory education. Applicants for the CAO position at the company should have a minimum of three years of teaching or related in-school experience, with a proven track record in raising academic achievement in diverse student populations. The role requires strong leadership experience, particularly in school start-ups, restructuring, or educational innovation, and the ability to manage school schedules, budgets, and staff evaluations in alignment with the school's vision. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a passion for empowering students, possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration. A Master's degree in education or a related field is required, along with a Building Level Administrator certification or eligibility. The CAO should be an adaptive, solution-oriented leader, with an entrepreneurial mindset and a talent for developing innovative strategies.
