Job Title: Electrician 

Department: Field Service / Construction  Reports To: Electrical Foreman / Project Manager

Job Summary

The Electrician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical systems and equipment in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. This role requires strong technical knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and the ability to work independently or as part of a crew on new construction, renovation, or service calls.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, systems, fixtures, and equipment based on blueprints and specifications
• Diagnose electrical issues using testing devices (multimeters, voltage testers, etc.) and repair or replace faulty components
• Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and electrical code books
• Install and connect wiring for panels, circuits, breakers, transformers, and other electrical equipment
• Ensure all work complies with National Electrical Code (NEC) and local/state building codes
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for repair
• Coordinate with other trades and project managers to ensure work is completed on schedule
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and code compliance
• Respond to service calls and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in a timely manner
• Follow all OSHA safety regulations and site-specific safety protocols
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in proper working condition
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service calls as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of electrical apprenticeship program required
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license required (per state requirements)
• 2+ years of electrical experience preferred (residential, commercial, or industrial depending on role)
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• Strong working knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
• Comfortable working in tight spaces, at heights, or in outdoor conditions
• Standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders for extended periods
• Ability to work in varying weather and temperature conditions

Preferred Skills

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience with both residential and commercial/industrial electrical systems
• Familiarity with low-voltage, fire alarm, or control systems a plus
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• OSHA 10/30 certification a plus
