UA Associate - Construction Property

UA Associate - Construction Property Job ID: 134205 Zürich North America is currently hiring a UA Associate for the Construction Property team. In this role you will support and work closely with experienced Underwriters in reviewing and analyzing risks. You will apply and hone your research and analytical skills to effectively assess risk and grow your career. The position is a hybrid work model with flexibility. You are expected to report to a North American office in Boston, MA or New York, NY. The hybrid model encourages in‑person collaboration when necessary. Responsibilities Review, evaluate, and summarize risk exposures, controls, loss history, and financial condition to aid underwriting decisions on submission acceptance or decline. Follow Underwriter instructions for policy rating, subjective pricing, policy construction, coverages and exclusions, mandatory forms, to accurately quote and issue policies. Provide account servicing support with the Underwriter and Manager for end‑to‑end servicing processes for new business, renewals, and endorsements for basic to moderately complex business and products. Respond to written, verbal, and telephone inquiries appropriately and on time under close supervision by Underwriter and/or Manager. Work collaboratively with assigned Underwriters. Support Underwriter with broker/agent/distributor/customer interactions by providing basic customer service skills. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with no prior experience in the Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management, or Insurance area. Or Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree with no prior experience in the Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management, or Insurance area. Or High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management, or Insurance area. Knowledge of data collection and analysis. Preferred Qualifications Insurance industry knowledge. Knowledge of processing, rating and policy management systems used in the insurance industry. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Superior skills in relationship building, active listening with customers and coworkers. Enjoys working with details and providing accurate data in a timely manner. Self‑directed to meet deadlines. 5% travel. Compensation & Benefits The hourly rate is $23.80 – $38.94, plus a short‑term incentive bonus of 5%. We offer competitive pay and comprehensive benefits for employees and their families.
