Research Engineer I
Our client, a Medical Devices / Healthcare company, is looking for a Research Engineer I for their Warsaw, IN location. Responsibilities:
- This position involves technical and hands-on identification, evaluation, and development of technologies, utilizing the candidate's skill sets as well as those of the team members to recommend and pursue future pathways.
- Assists in the development of individual research and testing project plans.
- Is knowledgeable of the capabilities and operation of sophisticated test methods in their area of expertise, preferred.
- Is familiar with national and international testing standards related to work in their assigned laboratory, is preferred.
- Maintains good oral and written communication skills, to participate in meetings related to the research and testing program, and provide timely and accurate reporting on project progress and completion.
- Monitors scientific and medical literature for advancement relevant to the assigned research and testing objectives.
- Consults with and provides technical evaluations for other departments (Development, Manufacturing, Legal, etc.)
- Will assist in development of test programs, formulate test protocols, and choose appropriate test equipment.
Requirements:
- Frequent communication with internal and external customers is expected.
- Both teamwork and individual contributions are valued.
- The ideal candidate will possess a passion for learning, an innate curiosity, and be a technical leader.
- Technical knowledge in science, engineering, or relevant discipline.
- Strong personal curiosity in a broad array of technologies.
- Strong communication skills (both oral and written).
- Experience in laboratory testing & test equipment, is preferred.
- Possess knowledge of statistical analysis, is preferred
- Inquisitive ability to analyze problems and develop solutions
- Minimum of a BS in Engineering.
- 0-3 years' experience in an academic or industry setting.
- Experience in orthopedics or medical device field is desirable.
